Data controller

Bernardo Almeida Lopes, sole trader "Bern Studio", Italian VAT number IT13134590960. Email: hello@bern.studio.

What we process and why

1. Browsing the site

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.). To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP address, browser and time of the request. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Visit statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, builds no profiles and does not track visitors across sites. It only collects aggregate data (page views, country, device type).

2. "Lab notes" newsletter

If you subscribe, we process your email address to send you the newsletter. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.

The newsletter runs on MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania), acting as our data processor.

3. Email

If you write to hello@bern.studio, we use your message only to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest in replying, or pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Email is routed by Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail (Google) mailbox. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies, technical or tracking, which is why there is no cookie banner. Fonts are served from the site itself: your browser does not contact third parties such as Google Fonts.

If you use the "Light / dark" button, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it in your browser settings.

Recipients and transfers

Data is processed by the providers above (Cloudflare, MailerLite, Google) as processors. Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We never sell or hand over data to anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability of your data, and object to processing (Arts. 15–22 GDPR), by writing to hello@bern.studio. You can also complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
